Feeding amounts depend on your dog’s weight, age, and activity level.
Our feeding calculator uses RER and MER energy calculations to generate a personalised recommendation.
This gives you a starting point which can then be adjusted based on your dog’s body condition.

Puppies usually require more frequent feeding.
Your recommended daily amount can be divided across whichever feeding schedule works best for you and your dog.
We started with what a dog needs across every life stage, and built the formulation from there. Nineteen whole-food ingredients, each chosen for what it contributes, with the nutrients coming from the ingredients themselves rather than from added supplements. The formulation that did that most precisely resulted in a single complete recipe.
What changes across a dog’s life is the amount, not the recipe. Their calorie needs change with growth, weight, activity and body condition. That’s what the calculator works out.

Orders are shipped frozen in insulated packaging designed to maintain safe temperatures during delivery.
Tracking information is provided so you know when your order will arrive.
Protocol Raw Complete should be stored in the freezer at −18 °C or below.
Individual portions can be thawed in the refrigerator, 12 to 24 hours ahead. Once defrosted, keep them refrigerated and use within 48 hours.
Protocol Raw Complete has a 12-month frozen shelf life when stored at −18 °C or below.
Each pack includes a best-before date so you can easily track storage time.
Your order should arrive fully frozen.
Our packaging system is designed to maintain frozen temperatures throughout delivery.
If the food arrives thawed or you are unsure about its condition, email hello@protocolraw.com within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and a photograph. Keep the packaging until we have responded. You choose a full refund or a replacement delivery.
