Nutrition

Complete nutrition, through every life stage.

Protocol Raw Complete gives your dog the nutrition they need from puppyhood to senior years.

No supplements to add.
No recipes to rotate.
Nothing else to work out.
Calculate Your Plan

Everything they need. Nothing for you to finish.

A complete food should do the whole job.

That means providing the nutrients a healthy dog needs, in the amounts and proportions that matter, when fed as their everyday food.

You shouldn't need to work out which vitamins to add, which minerals might be missing, or what else needs to go in the bowl.

We do that part.

The dog changes. The recipe doesn't need to.

Puppy

Puppies grow.

Adult

Adults settle into a routine.

Senior

Senior dogs often need less energy.

Pregnancy & nursing

Pregnancy and nursing change energy needs again.

Protocol Raw Complete Complete across all of those life stages

What changes is the amount your dog needs.

That's why we calculate their portion for them.

Completeness

An ingredient can be nutritious. The whole recipe has to add up.

But the presence of nutritious ingredients does not, on its own, make a food complete.

What matters is the finished recipe: whether all of those nutrients are there in the amounts and proportions a dog needs when everything is put together.

FEDIAF, the European pet food industry federation, publishes nutritional guidelines for complete and complementary pet food. We use the nutrient levels in those guidelines as a reference when assessing the formulation.

Verification

We check the finished food, not just the recipe on paper.

Before the food is made, we calculate what the recipe should provide from the ingredients and the amounts used. That tells us what we expect to be there.

But a calculation is still a prediction.

Before the recipe is finalised, the finished food is also independently analysed in a laboratory. That lets us compare what we expected with what is actually measured in the food itself.

If the analysis doesn't support what the recipe is meant to provide, we change the recipe.

Is Protocol Raw Complete right for my dog?

Every life stage

Protocol Raw Complete is a complete diet for every life stage: puppies, adults, seniors, and pregnant and nursing dogs.

A diagnosed condition

Protocol Raw Complete is a complete maintenance diet, not a therapeutic one. Whether it is right for a dog with a diagnosed condition is a decision for you and your vet. Full nutritional analysis is published on formulation.

A therapeutic diet

Some diagnosed conditions need a specific therapeutic diet. Protocol Raw Complete is not one, and is not designed to replace one. If your vet has prescribed a diet, follow their plan.

Immunocompromised

Because Protocol Raw Complete is uncooked, it is not recommended where your dog, or someone in your household, is immunocompromised: during chemotherapy, on immunosuppressant medication, or after a transplant. If that applies to you, check with your vet or doctor first.

Everything they need. The amount that's right for them.

Tell us about your dog and we'll calculate their daily portion.
